U.S. Infantryman in Raincoat Pointing, 1943-45 Kit
The raincoat (officially: M1938 Raincoat, Synthetic Resin Coated, Olive Drab, Dismounted) was a prized possession of any soldier who had one in the wet and dreary conditions of the ETO in winter and spring of 1943-45. Earlier models were made of heavy duty rubberized canvas, which was burdensome, but effective. In 1942, the Quartermaster Corps tried a number of different substitute materials due to the rubber shortage, but none were fully satisfactory. The M1941/M1943 field jackets worn by most troops were shorter and more practical than the M1938 (they allowed the wearer to be more mobile), but they did not keep one quite as dry and did not cover the user’s bottom as well when seated on the muddy ground or in a fox hole.
1/30 Scale Resin Kit
Unpainted, Unassembled
Our models come out of the box pre-cleaned and prepped. Their polyurethane resin construction means sharp, crisp detail with no flash and little pitting. The metal parts are clean and sturdy.
Our model kits are simple to assemble but by no means are they simple toys. They are highly detailed, historically accurate model kits--the most ardent modeler can’t deny the quality and detail found in our kits!
At our core, we here at Campaign Miniatures are avid modelers, collectors, and above all, historians. We put a lot of research and analysis to make all of our products correct and accurate. And all Campaign Miniatures are compatible in size and scale with W.Britain figures and accessories so you can mix and match your completed kits. Keep an eye out for our ever expanding range of figures, vehicles, and accessories.
Due to be released in DECEMBER 2024.
