Item Number: ROM007D2

Legionnaire Wearing Cloak & Throwing Pilum (1st Minerva Legion white shield with Silver Boss)

A standing Legionnaire wearing a cloak for warmth prepares to launch his Pilum at the Barbarian hordes.

This is a reworked version of ROM007 with leg greaves removed from the previous version and some minor changes to the upper body.

The D version carries the 1st Minerva Legion white shield with a silver shield boss.

The 1st Minerva were raised in 82 CE by the Emperor Domitian and were based in Germany.  They took part in the Dacian wars under Hadrian and are recorded on Trajan's column.  Records still show them being based in Germany in the 4th century, but like many units, their end is not recorded with the disintegration of the Roman empire.  Their shield design featured the Goddess Minerva on a white background.

Limited Edition of 50.

Released in September 2018.
