The second of our three choices is the dramatic and sinister black painted DVII flown by Leutant Josef Jacobs of Jasta 7. His aircraft is adorned with what appears to be a winged devil blowing flames and fire out of his mouth. His total tally of 48 victories during the Great War tied him with Werner Voss for the fourth most successful German air ace of that conflict.
