The Old Organ Grinder & His Monkey
A familiar sight on any Victorian Street was the itinerant “Organ Grinder,” usually accompanied by an animal of one kind or another; in this case, a small monkey. Our “Organ Grinder” is obviously an “Old Soldier,” probably from the “Wars of Napoleon,” and still wears the remains of his old uniform and even a campaign medal or two.
RETIRED.
