Saracen or Islamic Arab Cavalry (Medieval)--Makes 5 Mounted figures
The set contains 5 model soldiers plus 5 model horses comprising of 1 officer and 4 cavalrymen plus hard-plastic weapons. The heads, arms and shields are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures.
As mentioned previously, our reference period for the design of this range is the 14th Century to match with our existing Medieval range of models.
By this period, the Islamic world has fragmented into a number of independent regimes such as the Mamluks in Egypt, and the Ottomans in Anatolia. Notwithstanding the various ethnic groups in power, Arab soldiers remain an important component of Medieval Islamic Armies. The models of 60ALB02 are designed as a pair with 60ALB01 with many of the heads ad arms interchangeable.
