Rocket Troop, Royal Horse Artillery
The set contains 9 model soldiers comprising of 1 officer and 8 gunners, plus 4 rocket launchers. The heads and arms are interchangeable to enable the assembly of different postures.
The rocket launcher comes in different types. The larger launchers are used in siege bombardments. For field actions, the light trough launcher is used. The legs are bended to lower the elevation of flight for anti-personnel actions.
Rockets are highly mobile and deployed for massed firing. They can be even more deadly than massed musketry at longer ranges.
All models are supplied unpainted.
The Royal Horse Artillery is formed in 1793 and is an elite corps of the British Army during the Napoleonic Wars. The gunners wear the hussars’ braided jackets (called a dolman) and the elegant Tarleton helmets. All the men ride horses and are required to move at cavalry paces.
