Enemy at the Gates, The Battle of Stalingrad--Building and six figures (four Germans, two Russian citizens)

THE WAR BEHIND THE FRONT

Following the German invasion of the Soviet Union in June 1941, vast territories of Belarus and Ukraine came under occupation.  Behind the advancing front, resistance began to grow.  Soviet partisans operated from forests and remote villages, while underground groups worked secretly in occupied towns and cities.  Their activities ranged from gathering intelligence and distributing clandestine information to sabotaging railways, bridges, and communication lines.  Partisan detachments attacked German patrols, supply columns, and garrisons, forcing the occupation forces to commit considerable manpower to securing their rear areas.

The struggle was fought at close quarters and with extraordinary brutality.  Raids, searches, and arrests could erupt without warning, while discovery often meant imprisonment or death for members of the underground and those who sheltered them.

Belarus became one of the principal centres of Soviet partisan warfare, while extensive resistance networks also operated throughout occupied Ukraine.  By 1943–1944, partisan operations increasingly supported the advancing Red Army, disrupting German communications and contributing to the liberation of occupied territories.

ABOUT THIS SET

ENEMY AT THE GATES captures a single dramatic moment during the war behind the Eastern Front.  A German assault group, led by an officer, has discovered a suspected resistance hideout and is preparing to force its way inside.  On the other side of the door, two Soviet resistance fighters--a man armed with a submachine gun and a woman with a pistol--are ready to defend themselves.

The ruined building, detailed interior, and everyday objects place the confrontation in an ordinary civilian setting, emphasizing how suddenly the war could intrude into daily life under occupation.

The set includes the building section, German assault group, Soviet resistance fighter,s and interior accessories, creating a complete 1/30 scale diorama.

60mm Hand Painted figure for collectors from the World War II product range.

Due to be released in OCTOBER 2026.
