British Light Dragoons (1812-1815) The set contains 5 model soldiers and 5 horse models comprising of 1 officer and 4 troopers. The heads and arms are interchangeable giving permutation of at least 10 different assembled postures.
The dress reform of the British Army in 1812 resulted in the light dragoons adopting a polish lancer jacket with a French-style shako. Their equipment remains the sabre and the carbine (the short Paget carbine). Although equipped for outpost duties, they are often employed for shock actions as well when there is insufficient heavy cavalry in the field.
