BMC CTS WWII U.S. Howitzer Artillery & Crew--12 pieces OD Green Plastic Army Men Playset
From the BMC Toys CLASSIC TOY SOLDIER COLLECTOR SERIES, small field artillery that packed a big punch. The WWII U.S. ARTILLERY 12 piece plastic army men set features a long barrel howitzer, 2 short barrel howitzers, and 9 crew figures in 3 different poses. Both artillery models have rolling wheels with metal axles, and the short barrel cannon feature barrels that elevate and movable trailing arms. Soldiers include 3 man artillery crew. Figures are made from OD-Green color soft plastic with lots of detail and stand up to 2.4 inches tall. Artillery is made from OD-Green hard plastic and measure up to 2.8 inches tall and 7.5 inches long. All pieces are approximately 1:32 scale.
The short barrel Howitzer was initially offered to hobby collectors by Classic Toy Soldiers Company around the late 1990s, and the artillery crew figures around 2010. The long barrel Howitzer was originally made for hobby collectors by The Toy Soldier Company and modeled after the version that was included in many famous Louis Marx & Company Battleground Playsets from the 1950s and 1960s. Classic Toy Soldiers Co. and Toy Soldiers Co. worked with BMC Toys to make these figures and accessories available to today's youngsters. BMC Toys was founded by Bill McMaster in 1991 and specializes in producing historically accurate plastic army men figures, accessories, and playsets in the classic realistic style of the 1950s and 1960s.
These figures and accessories are the perfect addition to any WWII, Korean War, and Cold War era playset or school project diorama. Packaged in plain white box with label and recommended for ages 5 and up.
