William Bishop, Canadian Flying Ace

Billy Bishop was a Canadian flying ace credited with 72 victories making him the highest scoring Canadian pilot of WWI.  After the war, Bishop went into the aviation business with Willy Barker, which was short-lived due to financial and legal difficulties, he dabbled in various other businesses before re-enlisting into the RCAF and was instrumental in setting up the British Commonwealth Air Training Plan during WWII.  The war took its toll on his health and Bishop died peacefully in his sleep in 1956 ,aged 62 years old.  He was awarded the Victoria Cross, amongst many other awards during his service to his country.
